"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling
the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against
them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."
(2 Cor 5:18-19)
What is 'Ministry' anyway?
Sometimes the idea of what ministry is can be confusing.
If we look at the Bible, the followers of Jesus (Christians) were all called to be in "the full time ministry" of reconciliation.
This involves lovingly directing others to God, and teaching & sharing the message of forgiveness.
Our Children's, Pre-teen and Teen ministries are a key and valued part of our fellowship.
They are involved in our outreach, our meetings and events as well as our community serving which includes things like playing music and singing songs to encourage the wlderly.
(You would be amazed at how rewarding this can be as well as such an encouragement to people who have served us for a lifetime in many ways.)
Our Family, Singles and Student ministries seek to be effective in loving and serving the people we meet in our day to day lives, whether it be at work, in college or on the school run.
As each of us experience different stages in life, things are not always easy.
We try our best to support each other and the people around us through the different things life can throw up.
Our Worship ministry is focused on helping and developing our members and visitors to be "Worshipers" rather than simply people who turn up to worship events.
This happens through teaching and practical worship which is very inspiring and encouraging.
(Trust us, you don't need to have a musical background or experience to be able to praise and be involved in the worship of God!)
We regularly have what we call worship workshops where we learn new songs & song parts as well as through teaching and discussion, develop a greater understanding of why, where and to who should worship be directed.
These are fun and inspiring times, and you are more than welcome to join us, whatever your background of experience.
The book of Psalms in the Bible (A Big Songbook!) says:
"Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom." (Ps 145:3)
While God is worthy of praise (You may have noticed, we live in a very beautiful part of the world), Worship and praise are something that can free our minds from the day to day worries and distractions in life and encourage us and build our hope.
